Seeking this horse

 Troy NY
Have you seen this horse? I am looking for a horse who was named Ranger who used to belong to a neighbor of mine until he passed away in 2004.His horses were subsequently sold. I currently own one of his horses, but am looking for Ranger to see if he is alright and let his owner know that if he's ever for sale to call me first. This neighbor was like a father figure for me and so his horses are like having a part of him still here. Please help!

LOOKING FOR GRAY APPY MARE

Fresh Meadows,NY
I am looking for a light gray appaloosa mare who was brought to Dutchess County in Spring of 2002 heavy in foal. She was a lesson horse in Queens who quickly changed hands once it was discovered that she was pregnant. She was brought to Dutchess County by Jimmy Martyn where she found a new home. Her name was Gidget and she should be well into her teens now. From what I heard, she had a paint colt in the spring of 2002. As far as I know she did not have papers. She is a short (around 15 hands tall), fairly stocky light gray speckled appy mare with a light brown mane and tail. If anyone has heard of her, or can give me any help at all in finding her present location, please do. I really want to locate this horse and any aid is appreciated!

HORSE SEARCH

I am searching for a horse that was sold in or near Holland around 1992 or 93 by a man named Gary Karpin.. I am not certain of the date.  I raised the horse from a foal; he is a red chestnut gelding, probably between 15 ½  - 16 hands, with a white star with a curved stripe running down towards the nose on his face..  I had sold the horse, reluctantly, about eight years before to Gary. At the time Gary lived in Grafton, Vermont, but then moved later to Holland. He named the horse “Traveler” and participated in Civil War re-enactments with him. "Mickey" is a over 20 years old now. I never felt good about selling the horse, and what has become of him has always haunted me. If he is in a good place, I will be content just to see him. If whoever has him no longer wants him I would be happy to buy him.If he id dead I would like to know. If anyone in the area remembers ANYTHING about this horse it would be a help to me in finding him. The name of the person who bought him would be particularly helpful, or hearing from the blacksmith who may have shod him.I would appreciate any help anyone can give in my search. I also am willing to offer $100 reward to anyone who actually finds the horse for me. Thank you, Kate Kelly

Looking for:

Doinit Theeastbayway- AKA Odie

Rutland,VT
I have been wondering for quite a while now if anybody knows of or owns a horse Named  (that was his barn name when sold) He is a registered paint, not sure if papers went with him or not. He would be 4 now, was foaled July 20th 2001. By a stud named Flits Gold Dollar & his Dam was Satin And Steel.   He was sold through Krizer Quarter Horses In Alburg VT sometime between November 01 & March of 02' Last place I knew he was was in the Hinesburg/Ferrisburg area with people who have draft horses, they were going to use him to put color on their drafts.  please see the description of markins below & see the  pictures or my web page listed below for exact markings. I would appricate ANY info/ leads on the whereabouts of him, both my parents & I would really would love to know where he is & how he has turned out, he was a really nice horse!

Markings are:

Head: Bay with a crooked white Martini Glass shape starting mid fore head & going over nose to under lower lip, the underside of his throat from muzzle to neck is white. Marking on face is wide at top narrow down center of nose, widens again just above nostrils & goes under lower lip.  Blue eyes both sides,

RIGHT SIDE (his, our left)

brown goes to just behind throat latch, his mane is black to about half way down the neck and then white the rest of the way, has a neat little black "thumb print"just before black mane goes white on his neck.

Has brown on his loin area starting at just behind center of belly going up about half way to point of hip & back down to top of stifle, brown strip also comes from over his back/butt on to the right side but doesn't connect with this marking.

LEFT SIDE: (Our Right)

Brown goes to just before shoulder at its longest point, most of it ends mid-3/4 of the way down his neck. Has Brown "band" over his loin/ hip on this side too but it is wider, goes to center of hip & starts just at or slightly behind the center of his belly on the bottom, this mark goes up and over his butt/ back but dosen't connect with the one on his other side.

TAIL: His tail is mostly white with a black band/spot about mid tail bone where the hair is black on top & white starts up just under it.

Overall:

All four legs are white as is his chest most of his belly, his butt execpt for the markings noted above.

He was the SWEETEST boy, QUIET temperment had a few conformational issues that he may have grown out of but un likley: he was pretty badly cow hocked & did have a parrot mouth/ over bite that was very noticable.

Thank you in advance for any info you may have, please feel free to e-mail me at satinandsteel37@aol.com or call me at 802-236-9250 or 802-775-5735 any time, ask for Kate.

SEARCHING FOR "STAGGER LEE" APPALOOSA GELDING

My name is Renee Calkins.  I have been searching for the appaloosa in the pictures below.  He would be approx. 18-23 yrs. old.  He is 15.3 hands and very stocky.  His last owner was Fred Dean, located in Canajoharie, NY.  Mr. Dean passed away 5 months before I found out that Stagger Lee was there.   Mr. Dean's help remembers a really nice app. in the field but does not really know what happened to him.  They are pretty sure he did not go to an auction when Mr. Dean passed away.  He was a really nice looking appy.  that would make a great trail horse.   He was not registered, so I know my chances are slim on finding him.  I can only hope one day I will be reunited with Stag.  The picture of him with the girl on him was approx. 10 years ago.   Anytime I see any type of ads, vets, farriers, etc.  I will always send pictures hoping one day I will see him again.     HE WAS NOT STOLEN Thank you so much.

"Deacon"

18 year old gelding Tb/Holsteiner cross, standing 16’2” hands, dark bay

Keep an eye out for this guy please - he is missing!!Please help me find Deacon I adopted Deacon 3 years ago, knowing Deacons past I promised him he would have a home with me forever. Unfortunately I hadto move in June of 2004 and could not take him with me. I knew Wendy from Bernville, Pa area in which we are from, for over a year.I really felt she would take care of Deacon. Well, I was so wrong about her and feel horrible that he is missing, and will never forgive myself for letting him go to her. I  Kept in contact with Wendy and was told Deacon was doing fine.  One day in November Wendy notified me she had traded Deacon in August for another horse, to a horse dealer named Toby from the Williamsport, Pa area.  I was horrified and in a panic to locate Deacon. I had contact with Toby in November, and was told he sold Deacon to a woman in Erie, Pa in September.  I have tried to contact Toby for more information, and as of today he has never returned any of my calls or e-mails. Deacon could be anywhere by now. and may not have gone to Erie, Pa.I have reached a dead-end and now desperately need your help in tracking Deacon.Deacon is an 18 year old gelding Tb/Holsteiner cross, standing 16’2” hands, dark bay, with a white star & white spot on his right rear coronet band. SEARCHING FOR infomation about  SOLD HORSE

I am looking for information regarding a horse I sold in the 80's. He was a narrow built chestnut QH cross known as "Bill". I believe he had some saddlebred. He had a flaxen mane and tail, and a white star/stripe/snip. He had an egg sized white spot on his right side. I kept him at our home on Rt.3 in Plattsburgh until he was sold around 1982. He was a bit of a bucker and was used for 4h (Northern Trail Riders) and pony club. I don't expect that I would find him alive now, but I would like to know who bought him and where he lived out the rest of his years. If this horse sounds familiar to anyone please contact me by phone or email.

I am in search of a horse that was sold at Crowleys Comission sales in Agawam, Mass. Either in the end of June or beggining of July 2001.  I worked with the horse and had him as a consignment horse but he wasn't selling fast enough for the owner so he took him to an auction.  I am intersted in making sure this horse is alright and would be intersted in buying him if the current owner is not happy with him.  His name was Turk.  He was a beautiful paint/morgan.  stood around 14.1-14.3.  Would be about 5-7years old.  Very outstanding looker.  Stocky little body.  He was a bay with very thick mane and tail and long tail to the ground mane past his shoulder.  He had a bald face, stockings, and white belly splash.  He had a ton of personality, a real character.  Was only green broke when sold.  He had the personlaity that you had to either love and adore or hate with a passion.  He sold for about $1500.  If anybody has any info please let me know.

SEARCHING

THank you for taking the time to read this!  I'm searching for my sorely missed appaloosa mare who was sold on June 15th or 16th from the Argyle area.  I miss her very much and was forced to sell her.  I'm only 13 and she was my first horse and all I want to know is that she's okay.  She's a 15-15.1 hand leopard appaloosa mare.  She's around 5 years old and is very "high-strung"  She's green to ride but never bucked or reared she's just a little fast.  I had a special connection with this horse the minute I met her!  I miss her so much and am heart broken!  I haven't slept or gone a day with out crying for weeks!  If you know of a horse like this PLEASE contact me as soon as possible!  Please call me instead of e-maiuling because in a week or so we won't have e-mail anymore.  Her name was Star and she wasn't too fond of carrots or apples but loved commercial horse treats.  She's also unregistered.  PLEASE let me know if anyone knows anything!

SOLD HORSE

Trying to track down an Appaloosa mare that was just sold to someone in Plattsburgh, NY by a Harold Walker.  I am from upstate New York in the Saratoga region, we were blessed with this horse's presence for a short 6 weeks, she was being worked with on her groundwork skills, she was green, but was making progress.  Unfortunately, things didn't work out, she was a lot of horse for a 13 year old, who's heart is breaking right now!  We are hoping that the information we got is accurate and she was, in fact sold to someone in Plattsburgh. We named her StarGazer, Star for short, she was about 5 years old, Leopard in pattern, she had 4 black socks and a "starburst" pattern on her forehead.  She is gorgeous, and we want so badly to know she went to a good home.  She desperately needs the "right" home to help her reach her potential. Any possible help you could give us would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for a small Morgan cross gelding that I sold to a girl in Burke, NY in September of 1999.  She sold him in the summer/fall of 2000.  I regret selling him; and at least want to try and buy him back, or to know he is taken care of.  He is the first horse that I have trained; and even though he was only 14 hands, and 3 yrs. old in 1999; that little guy could do anything.  I was just a full grown adult and he was a little to small for me.  He would be 6 yrs old now; and maybe 14.2 hands if he was lucky.  He was a bright sorrell w/a thick mane and tail that was brown and black.  He had a 3 point star on his head.  And 2 hind socks.  He also had a couple of black spots on his rump.  I have numerous pictures of him; and I have some of them online too.  Any info would be good.  I really miss him.  He was a 1/4 Morgan 1/4 Welsh Cob and 1/2 Appaloosa.  I don't know if his new owners would know that though.  He was really friendly, but did nip sometimes because he was a stallion when I got him; and all anyone did was hand feed him.

SOLD HORSE

Hi, im 17 and I'm looking for my first horse, Babe. She went to an owner around the Clifton Park area I believe and we lost her phone number, so if you see this contact me. I dont intend on taking her from you, but the person who bought her said I was welcome to come see her and ride her whenever I want to... then I lost the number :( she was about 14.2, bay with some white hairs on her rump,in no particular pattern, she has a few chestnut hairs in her black tail... I think its her left ear- she has a little split in it from an accident when she was a baby. And I believe some of her fetlock on her hind right is white with likw 4 black spots in it. Its a weird pattern- I cant describe it. She has no vices, and sometimes when she gets nervous while being ridden she tends to pace. if you hold a treat in front of her she will bow with her.. right for leg I believe. and she will put her head down. shes slightly tempermental but very loving.. im just curious as to how shes doing.. she was my first horse and i loved her alot..and i miss her ! :) so email me if u know or have seen her.Ballston Lake, NY

LOOKING FOR HORSE SOLD AT AUCTION

I am looking for my first horse that I sold in Feb. 2001. She is a fleabitten grey who appears all white in the winter and has brown flecks in the summer. She is about 21 years of age and about 15.3hh. A man bought her for a family... but he said she was "crazy" when he brought her to the auticon.... I don't think so but.... Anyway, he sold her and a draft horse as a pair at an AUCTION in ALBANY, NY last spring... PLEASE help me with any location where this horse may be. When I sold her, her name was Gem. She has arthritous, but was rideable when I sold her. I am looking for her just to know that she is alive and has not become someones dinner across the sea. If possible, I would buy her back!!! That is how much I love this mare!!!!!!!!!!!!! Her mane flops over onto the left side of her neck. She has had foals before by the condition of her udder; not sure how long ago. People have told me that she is no doubt an Appendix but one other person said a QH... I have a few pics through e-mail! I will do ANYTHING just to see my girl again so I can sleep soundly at night knowing she is OK. PLEASE HELP!

Looking for Horse sold at Auction

I am looking for my Quarter Horse stallion. He stands about 15-15.2hh, is blood bay, with small, white half socks on his hind legs. He has a medium length tail, and a fairly short mane (as of three weeks ago... today is March 24, 2002. His name is Regal Red, although this was most likely not passed along. He has the number '9' branded on the top of one of his hips. He was abused before I saved him, then was sold without my knowing, I just want to know that he's alright. He was sold from a small farm in Georgia, then was sold at a horse auction near Dahlonega Georgia. He hates being ridden, and bucked off the last person who tried to ride him. This is the last of my knowledge of his whereabouts. When he bucked the rider (I'll say Bob), when he bucked Bob off, he broke bob's back and one of his legs. I'm the only person who's ever been able to ride him. He's in his early twenties, and loves being around children, just not be ridden by them. He is extrememly ticklish on his back, and won't allow you to pick up his hind legs without a fight. Please email me if you have any knowledge of his whereabouts! Thank you very much!
