EquiDay 2009 at Miner Institute in Chazy, NY is a daylong symposium on horse topics and a mini-expo to launch the spring season in the North Country. Saturday, March 21st the doors will open at 9:00 a.m. for FREE registration and refreshments with the speaker program starting at 10:00 a.m. and continue until 3:30 ending with a door prize drawing. Lunch is available for purchase to benefit a local 4H club.
No matter the weather (EquiDay is famous for
snowstorms), the show will go on. EquiDay is held in the Miner Center
building of Miner Institute on Rte. 191, just west of exit 41 on

The St. Lawrence Valley Draft Horse Club will hold its annual Plow Days on September 18 and 19, 2010, from 10:00 to 4:00 each day. Exhibitions/events include plowing, grain binding, walking plow, sulky plow, mowing and cutting hay, hay press, corning cutting, threshing, wagon rides, black smith, pony rides, raffles, refreshments. 9:00am (sharp!!) - 5:00pm Walt is a 2 time World Champion Team Roper and considered by many to be the most effective team roping instructor known for his motivational speaking and teaching abilities. The clinic will combine stationary dummy work, hot heels dummy work and live cattle. If your goal is to become a better roper and horseman then this is the clinic for you. It is booking up fast; there are only 5 spots left. Total cost is $400 per person with a $150 deposit 8/15/09 and 10/15/09 and the remaining $100 deposit due 3/1/10. Gentle Dove Farm and Canandaigua Equestrian Center proudly announce our Happiness House TRAIL TRIAL! Put your trail experience to work in this low-key competition! Sunday, September 26, 2010 held at 5275 Parrish St. Extension, Canandaigua, NY 14424. Proceeds will benefit Happiness House, which offers programs and services for children and adults with disabilities. A Trail Trial consists of an un-timed ride with 6-10 judged obstacles that appear along a trail of several miles. There is a judge at each obstacle that compares the way the horse and rider meet the obstacle with a standard. Riders are judged on their skills and abilities to guide their horses through the obstacle course. There are no time requirements and the participant is only judged while negotiating obstacles, with the pace of the trail ride at the choice of the rider. Come join us with your horse, get lots of pledges for a great cause, and enjoy trails through fields, up hills, and through woods, while negotiating fun Trail Trial obstacles! A $50 pre-registration entry is required by September 19th with pledges due the day of the event. Have a great ride for a great cause! Come watch for FREE.
