industry in my opinion the best education is not in a college or university but
in the actual world. You will start at the bottom and work up as with any
profession in order to learn all aspects of the business. This is the true way
to success. We here at Doubletree offer this rare hands on opportunity to those
willing to pay for the education they get here with blood, sweat, and
tears. Your only other costs will be for
your food and spending money. You will
live in a not so fancy bunkhouse that you will find quite adequate with other
apprentices. Your real pay is being able to learn from a successful team at a
nice facility. We have fun but get a lot done. I teach 4 or 5 breeding
management courses a year, stand 10 stallions, break young horses, and train
reining, working cow horses, and Versatility Ranch Horses, We have numerous
clients who we give lessons to. I show all over the western United States . And
here at the facility we put on shows and clinics. Some of my good friends
include Al Dunning, Jimmy and Randy Paul, Gary Putman, and JD Anderson just to
name a few people that you would be exposed to here. We bring in clinicians
from all over to put on clinics here. We had Brian Digert the past President of
the NRHA here to do a clinic. He will be back again. You work 6 days a week and
do anything that needs done. Mostly your job would be to saddle horses, groom,
maybe warm up and cool down horses, help with the breeding, working with foals,
and some feeding. Your job does not usually involving cleaning stalls. We do
have people that do that, but occasionally when they are not available you
would have to do that also. You would be given a project horse to start and
train under supervision. You would also get a chance to occasionally ride one
of the trained horses, and at least once a week you would be given a formal
lesson. You learn by being involved and exposed to the everyday decisions that
make this facility work.
If you are interested in the position: We will need a video
of your riding a horse about 5 minutes in length. You will also need to stand
in front of the camera and tell us things like: your goals, educational
background, accomplishments, family, future plans, hobbies other than horses,
where you live, and anything else that you think we might like to hear about.
This part should be less than four minutes. You should post these videos to
youtube or send them to us on a cd. You must be 21 years of age and only
non-smokers will be considered.

of cobwebs, get the tractor and throw all bakery goods out for the
mares and foals, hay, trailer load of carrots spread everywhere. Poop

evenings. This was her summer job whilst in high school for two
summers. She can give shots (no tubing), first aid. Pretty much
everything and anything to do with horses and she comes with good

Anglo Arabs and QH. She has run a barn of 45 horses being left with
total responsibilities. Have personal good feeding programs for
thoroughbreds under weight (that work) and depressed. Have done
laser treatment on injuries, wrap and bandage, lancing. Helped the
vets do autopsies. She’s a great all round person, get on
great with people and horses and works well in a team. Has bred
her own mares had own foals. RICH is like Mcgyver and can
fix anything mechanical, micro-electronic, computers or
electrical. Enjoys the outdoors and loves working on the farm.
Enjoys meeting new people, team worker, engineering minded. Loves to
tinker with anything and everything. Taught himself to repair cars
and program computers at a young age. He started work when he was 15
years old sandblasting, painting and repairing semi trailers and
horse boxes. Rich has an associates in Computer Studies, can
muck out, feeding, haying, fencing, plumbing, fixing tractors, horse
boxes, trailer repairs, welding and fabrication, wood work, office
work, micro-electronics, heating, cooling, electrical work pretty

I am a hunter/jumper by heart but i work with it all. I am a clean, reliable, RESPONCABLE person. But you can be the judge of that.. I would like to continue my equine education after this internship, but I want it to be a job. I have done a couple internships and I'm ready for the real deal.
